Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College Kolhapur is established in the year 1982. It is a constituting unit of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune founded by the Hon. Dr. Patangrao Kadam Saheb. Motto of Bharati Vidyapeeth is “Social Transformation Through Dynamic Education”.

The college is permanently affiliated to the Shivaji University Kolhapur, approved the Bar Council of India and Reaccredited with B+ grade by the NAAC in 2024. The college is recognized under section 2(f) and 12 (b) of the UGC Act. College offers Three years’ law course (LL. B), Five years’ law course (B.A. LL.B.) and Diploma course in Taxation Laws (DIT) and Diploma in Labour Laws (DTL).

Despite classroom teaching, the major focus of this college is on imparting practical education. This is done through regular organizing of Moot Courts, Mock Trails, Legal Aid Camps, Law Lectures series inviting distinguished luminaries from the legal field, Court visits and Lawyer's Chamber visits, and initiating students to express and share their opinion and ideas on various current issues through wallpaper called 'Lawyers Pen'.

Since its establishment, the college has been visited and appreciated by various luminaries of the legal field, members of the Judiciary & District Bar, State Bar Council, and Bar Council of India on a number of occasions, and they have appreciated the progress and creativity of the college.

The college has produced quality advocates, judges and responsible citizens who are contributing in social and national development. The college is actively engaged arranging socio-legal activities that have helped in social transformation through legal education. Principal and teaching staff members are playing crucial role in teaching, learning and evaluation process as per the norms of the Shivaji University.
